Our Alumni Series continues with yet another one of our illustrious former students. Sharyn Silber is a Senior Manager in Data Strategy and Insights at American Express. Before moving to Amex, Sharyn was a Manager in Research Science at the NPD Group.
We asked Sharyn to say a few works about QC Analytics:
The Data Analytics and Applied Social Research program at Queens College gave me the skills and confidence to launch my career in data. As a student, I had the opportunity to learn from incredible faculty who have provided me with invaluable mentorship – throughout the program and beyond. My first job after graduation was in consumer market research. In that role, I applied the research and analytical skills from the program to solve problems in survey research. From there I pivoted to a completely different industry – financial services. In my current role, I utilize my data background to increase sales of financial products through business planning, strategy, and performance insights. I expect my next role will be something different entirely. Wherever my career path leads, I will always have a strong data toolkit I can carry with me.
